Laurel Bookstore in Oakland: Reading and Signing, June 19

It’s always fun to be reading at home, so to speak, and anywhere in the Bay Area always feels like home. Laurel Bookstore is a great indie that has been serving the local community and presenting a wide variety of authors and speakers for nearly ten years.

June 19 at 7 p.m. I’ll be joined by Clifford Henderson (Middle of Somewhere) for a night of lesbian books. If all goes well, I’ll be reading from the newly released Above Temptation. Clifford is renowned for her stand-up and readings, so it’s sure to be a fun evening.

Feel free to tell everyone you know and bring all the people you can squeeze into your car with you. There are few things better for the soul than the sound of women laughing together.

6/16/10 additional note: I won’t be reading from Above Temptation, but I promise to do my best Marilyn Monroe in the “Audition Scene” from Stepping Stone!
