Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table

The American Library Association’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Round Table promotes June as GLBT Book Month. Book Month dovetails into both Pride events and the American Library Association’s commitment to promoting diverse literature.

The members of the round table, primarily librarians, of course publish reviews. They also produce periodic bibliographies, often annotated. Their Over the Rainbow lists books across the entire reading spectrum that they have found notable for LGBT librarians and their patrons.

That means students, children, adults, researchers – everyone.

These monthly lists are curated to reach a list of notable books for every year, for example, 2016’s list of 68 books for adult readers. The group also conducts the Stonewall Book Awards.
